Judaism has its own understanding of time. Just like we begin every day as the sun sets, we celebrate the start of the New Year every Autumn, as the leaves begin to fall… The deeper meaning is that every ending is a new beginning, and when things feel bleak, we are taught to celebrate and reconnect with our tradition which gives us hope and reminds us that we are capable of transforming darkness into dawn, and Autumn into Spring… We kindle lights for the Sabbath evening and the holidays as way of affirming that we are partners with the Creator.

Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur are special holy days that help us end one year and begin the next in a way that ensures that we are rooted in faith and hope. To learn more about Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur, please click the links or join us!!!!

The Reform Jewish Community of Atlantic Canada is excited to celebrate the High Holy Days and in so doing, mark its 6 month old anniversary as the first progressive, inclusive, accessible Reform Jewish Community with primarily virtual worship services. As always, all of our services are primarily in English, with Hebrew translation or transliteration and are open to all who wish to join us.

Please register for the Zoom links for each service. Contact us for information about in-person break-the-fast vegetarian potluck events in Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island or Newfoundland and Labrador.
