Can’t wait for Shabbat!

Shabbat is almost here! Join the Reform Jewish Community of Atlantic Canada for its first virtual Shabbat service this Friday night, May 13th!!!

The week might feel stressful but it will not last forever! No matter what Monday throws at us… Friday night will return… Remembering that everything is finite is an important strategy to keep us from getting overwhelmed in the moment. Most of us wake up on Monday morning, and spend the rest of the week trying to keep up with work commitments and life responsibilities… trying not to drown in the hectic work week. It can be hard to stay grounded, but research shows that regular spiritual practices can help to develop resilience during times of stress.

The ancient rabbis understood that Shabbat serves an important function to help us to stay centered on what matters, to take time out for rest and connection… so we can remember what matters and detach from those stressors that can easily consume our time and energy, and yet that do not matter when we step back and take stock of the big picture.

Therefore, I am excited to invite everyone to join us for our first virtual Shabbat service on May 13th at 6:30 PM Atlantic/5:30 PM Eastern. All are welcome! Please register in order to receive the Zoom link: https://urj.tfaforms.net/781

Shabbat is almost here… we can reconnect, breathe, sing and re-center in what matters!
